Welcome to Morton Fraser's Business Law blog.
I'm Austin Flynn and I am a corporate lawyer and the head of Morton Fraser's Business Team where we advise business owners from our offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London
This blog is going to include my ‘thinking out loud’ on a variety of legal subjects, but in particular the ramblings (and no doubt occasional rantings) of a lawyer who is privileged to become involved with a wide variety of businesses making their way in the 21st century.
Every now and then I will also invite a guest blogger to contribute to the conversation.
Back in the heady days of October 2011, when I was a new blogger, tweeter, podcaster and general 'social media novice' I rashly promised our Marketing Manager that I would easily produce a weekly blog on commercial legal matters.

After my tenuous and convoluted attempt in last week's blog to include a reference to horse-burgers, I do actually have a serious point to make about the fact that the offending burgers contained ingredients that shouldn't have been there.

I had a brainwave last night when I arrived at home to find that for some reason the Council hadn't collected the paper recycling bag that we'd left outside the front gate yesterday morning.

In spite of the general love of Christmas in the household, however, I always find that by 6th January I'm more than ready for the tree and other decorations to come down and for life to return to normal (or what almost passes for normal).

If you'd said to me even three months ago that I'd be writing a blog vehemently defending the threat from a Tory party grandee to raise multiple legal actions for defamation I'd have said you had a screw loose; but here I am, doing just that.

This week's blog is about the loss of our little remaining privacy and a couple of trivial and completely unrelated and vaguely seasonal anecdotes.
