Steve Webb, the Minister of State for the Department for Work and Pensions, yesterday announced an increase to the statutory sick pay and statutory maternity, paternity and adoption pay rates. The rates are set to increase on 9 April 2012 and the expected changes are: An increase to statutory sick pay from £81.60 to £85.85 per week, and an increase to statutory maternity, paternity, additional paternity, adoption pay and maternity allowance from £128.73 to £135.45 per week.
The new Employment Tribunal compensation limits are also usually published at this time of year (to take effect from 1 February) so watch this space. I'll confirm the position as soon as I know.
