Never mind A-List Celebs here’s a B list that you wouldn’t want to be on!
In a public consultation held over from the summer, the Government has announced plans to outlaw “Blacklisting”.
Now you may have thought “Blacklisting” was something lost back in the turmoil of the 3 day week in the 1970s. However, many big names in the construction industry have, until recently, utilised the services of a company which, for a fee, provided details on the trade union persuasion of prospective employees.
The Government have announced measures to curb this practice. Provided the proposals are ratified, the regulations could be in place by Spring next year. This includes the option of those on a blacklist to seek, through the courts, compensation against those who perpetrate such measures.
