The big news this month was the publication of the much anticipated Taylor Review. The changes, if implemented, will have a significant impact on the operation of the gig economy. 

Mr Taylor was by no means the only one calling for better protections for the self employed.  A week before the review was published the Resolution Foundation also called for low paid self employed to be paid the minimum wage and the idea was endorsed by head of the Low Pay Commission and CBI, Lord Adair Turner.
