As recently reported by the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15887273, the Brixton cafe owner who raised claims alleging breach of contract and breach of confidence concerning the recipe for "Reggae Reggae Sauce" has had his case dismissed by the High Court in London.
It was held that Anthony Bailey had failed to establish that there had been an agreement between him and Levi Roots for the exploitation of the 'secret recipe' for the sauce. It was also held that Mr Bailey failed to show that the sauce recipe which he sold together with Mr Roots at a carnival stall in London was revealed to Mr Roots under an obligation of confidence.
Furthermore, Judge Pelling raised doubt as to whether the sauce recipe, made famous when Mr Roots appeared on Dragon's Den to promote it, was sufficiently well developed to be capable of being confidential information in the first place.
