Morton Fraser is delighted to announce that leading social housing lawyer Kate Dewar has joined the firm's Public Sector Team.
Morton Fraser recognises the key role that investment in housing will play in Scotland’s social and economic recovery, and Kate Dewar’s appointment strengthens our capacity to support this vital sector.
A well-known specialist in the housing world, Kate Dewar has more than 17 years experience of acting for social housing clients, during which time she has been at the forefront of some of Scotland's leading housing and community regeneration initiatives.
Of her move to Morton Fraser, Kate said: "I am hugely impressed by the Morton Fraser brand . This, in combination with the cross-disciplinary skills (particularly in the fields of alternative funding, innovative modelling for the delivery of new and retrofit social and private housing, and flexible governance structures), made this an obvious home for me. I look forward to working within a firm which can deliver great outcomes to clients – whether landlords, house builders, funders, local authorities, or the Scottish Government."
Duncan Murray, Morton Fraser's Chief Executive, said: "we are delighted Kate has chosen to join us. As a skilled commercial lawyer and leader in her field, Kate's social housing knowledge and commitment to clients enhances our service offering in this sector, which we see as a key focus for our business. Kate’s reputation, client focus and experience make her an ideal fit with us.”
