We were greatly saddened to hear of the death of former partner John McNeil earlier today. John had already been for 5 years a partner in Fraser Stodart and Ballingall WS at the time of the amalgamation of that firm in 1968 with Morton Smart Macdonald and Milligan and remained a partner in Morton Fraser until his retiral in in 2002.
The President of the Law Society in 1986/87, John was a highly respected and hugely influential figure and was awarded the CBE for his services to the legal profession. He served on the Committee chaired by Dame Mary Warnock, which, in 1984, produced a major Report on Human Fertilisation and Embryology.
