Overview

Caroline joined Morton Fraser in January 2010, after 20 years as a real estate partner in two other commercial law firms.

Her particular expertise is in undertaking legal transactions involving the purchase and sale of land for development.  She acts for both developers and land owners, in cases where the land already has the benefit of planning permission, and in cases where work needs to be done to obtain planning permission.

Many of her transactions proceed by means of a development agreement or an option.  Caroline has considerable experience in drafting and negotiating such agreements, and in other contractual arrangements which involve the sharing of profit and risk, such as property joint ventures, overage contracts and promotion agreements.

Caroline also provides specialist legal advice in relation to planning obligations - commonly known as Section 75 Agreements.  She undertakes the negotiation, drafting and revisal of such contracts, and their modification and discharge.
