Austin is an expert in corporate and commercial law and a winner of the Law Awards of Scotland’s ‘Corporate Lawyer of the Year’ award.

He is a dual qualified solicitor (Scotland and England/Wales) and advises businesses on their commercial legal requirements, such as company sales and purchases, equity investments, joint ventures, re-organisations, start-ups, shareholder disputes and intellectual property matters, and he heads the firm's non-contentious intellectual property practice. He also has expertise in providing commercial legal services to the healthcare sector and to public sector bodies generally.

Austin sits on the board of the Edinburgh Small Business Development Fund and the Council of Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce.
