Dorothy is a Partner within our Asset Protection Team and specialises in later life care. She also leads our Finance & Investment and Residential Property Teams. She is a member of the Solicitors for the Elderly organisation of lawyers who provide specialist legal advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
Known for her patience, warmth and discretion Dorothy works with her teams to provide a sensitive and caring service to help individuals in all personal legal and financial matters, from the purchase or sale of residential property to the protection of assets after death.
She also works closely with our other specialist teams who support private clients on family law, employment and litigation matters.
Dorothy has tutored in conveyancing for the Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh and was an early contributor to the Professional Competence Course run by the WS Society. She is co-author of the second edition of ‘Cohabitation’, published by W Green.
A passionate supporter of charitable activity, Dorothy contributes her legal services to various organisations and supports Morton Fraser's Giving Something Back Forum. She lives in East Lothian and actively engages in local community projects where she works with a number of clients, as well as across wider Scotland.
