Carrie is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in employment law having specialised in employment law since qualifying as a solicitor in 1997. During this time she has accumulated extensive experience in advising both employers and employees in all aspects of the employment relationship including unfair dismissal, labour relations and trade union matters, family friendly rights and contractual issues.
Carrie has a particular interest in discrimination and in addition to advising employers and employees in respect of the employment relationship provides advice to clients on the effect of discrimination legislation as that relates to the education sector, associations, access to services and exercise of public functions and disposal and management of premises.
Carrie's advice is pro-active and practical seeking to provide cost effective solutions for clients.
Carrie regularly appears in the Employment Tribunal and has appeared throughout Scotland and England and in the Scottish Employment Appeal Tribunal. She is a highly experienced litigator, recently being described by an Employment Judge as having "outstanding skills in preparation and advocacy".
