Our Education team is at the forefront of assisting clients to plan, organise and implement change required by the Government's programme of reforms.
Recent changes in Further Education exemplify the Government’s commitment to improve Scotland's education system. We’re the only law firm to have advised on all legal aspects of the unique merger involving both institutions of Further and Higher Education to form SRUC.
Our thorough knowledge of the developing statutory reforms and the approach taken by the relevant funding bodies is crucial to the advice we provide on strategic issues.
Our work on SRUC involved not only the delivery of high quality legal advice but also an in depth understanding of the governance and regulatory framework within which such bodies operate.
We continue to act for SRUC and also for the merged Glasgow Kelvin College. For universities we act in specific litigation and contentious employment issues. We are members of the Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges Framework (APUC) a "one stop shop" panel covering all legal services.
We’re also involved in advising Local Authorities on educational matters. This has included several projects for the Scottish Government's £1.8 billion "Schools for the Future" programme.
