Freedom of information
Public sector organisations have a strict duty to disclose information in response to requests from members of the public or other organisations.
We advise public sector organisations who receive requests for information under Freedom of Information legislation and also those who are making the requests. From our offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and London we advise companies and public sector organisations across the UK and many of our lawyers are dual-qualified (Scotland/England and Wales).
We understand the need to respond to a Freedom of Information request promptly and as fully as possible to try to satisfy the applicant. We appreciate the need for swift advice to meet statutory deadlines, and we're responsive in telling you quickly and clearly what has to be disclosed and which exemptions apply to prevent disclosure.
More about our service
We can advise clients either making or responding to requests for information. This helps us to see the problem from each perspective. We use our experience to clarify precisely the scope of the disclosure required to satisfy the legislation.
Our approach to fees
We understand the importance of providing fee clarity and value for money. We're happy to have an initial, free, no-obligation meeting to discuss how we can help. We can either quote fixed fees or give you a clear indication of the likely fee based on an agreed scope of work.
