Charity & Third Sector Law

All charities are different. That is why we offer you a finely tailored approach to help you with all legal aspects of running a charity.

Our charities team represents some of Scotland's best known charities who value our practical advice for their organisation.

We have the requisite skills and expertise to cater for all categories of charities, whether operating under trusts or a corporate structure, including community interest companies.  We have considerable experience in the formation of charities as well as ongoing advice relating to incorporation, reorganisation and regulatory matters.

We have built up significant experience of advising funders on finance for charities and other "not for profit" entities, including negotiating the terms of the loan agreements and security documentation.  We have expertise in risk management, governance and compliance, employment and property issues.

Morton Fraser's Charities Team was one of only 4 UK law firms shortlisted for Charity Team of the Year at the STEP awards 2009/2010

All, a huge thank you for all your help and support... it's a long time since we have dealt with such a professional, commercial and pragmatic firm so thank you very much indeed.  I always felt that we could get there because you always made common sense prevail.  No doubt we will be working together a lot in the future! Treasurer to HRH The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall

What the legal directories say:
