Prenuptial Agreements (also known as separation or cohabitation agreements) are made before or after couples are married or enter into civil partnership or cohabitation. The agreements themselves represent a rather complex area of family law.
How do I know if I need an agreement?
This depends on your own, personal circumstances and whether or not you feel you have assets to protect. We can advise you on the best course of action.
Can I enforce an agreement?
Again, the answer to this question depends on the circumstances. Most Agreements can be enforced. Also, the rules may differ in different jurisdictions. If you entered into an Agreement out with Scotland, we will have to consider very carefully what its effect will be in Scotland.
Our family lawyers can provide solutions to any problems you face in relation to Prenuptial Agreements.
