You may be considering whether you can become a British citizen because you have been living in the UK for a number of years and it has become your home.
On the other hand, you may hold another type of British nationality or you may live outside of the UK but have other family members who have a form of British nationality. This is an ever changing and complex area where it is important that you have a clear understanding of what you might be able to achieve.
The Mortons and the Frasers
It’s a family affair. Parents. Grandparents. Assorted sons, daughters, their partners, and kids.
Equal parts joy and mayhem. Our personal relationships, welfare and business, seamlessly managed together. There’s nothing quite the modern family. A smarter, happier future starts here.
We will give you easy to understand advice on your eligibility for nationality before applying and advise you on the documents required to make a successful application. We can assist you with the preparation of your application and submit it to the Home Office. Your application fee will not be reimbursed by the Home Office if your application is unsuccessful so it is important to make sure that you have the best chance of success.
Benefits we bring
We have an experienced immigration team who can advise you on British nationality law. We work closely with our private client team to ensure that holistic advice on the implications of nationality is available. The team is rated by both Chambers and Legal 500 as one of the best in Scotland.
We have extensive experience of assisting with appeals against Home Office decisions and also provide support to those applying to become British citizens. Where necessary, we also represent our clients robustly in court.
Our approach to fees
Where possible we offer fixed fee packages for assisting you either with advice or with an application. If it is not possible to provide a fixed fee then we will provide a clear indication of the likely fee based on an agreed scope of work.
