Tax returns

As tax rules change and legislation becomes ever more complex, it is reassuring to know that the preparation of your tax return is in safe hands.

We consider that there are three main elements.

  • You want to know the information provided to H M Revenue and Customs is correct.
  • You want to know when and how much tax to pay.
  • You want to know that ways of reducing your tax bill have been considered.

The Mortons and the Frasers

It’s a family affair. Parents. Grandparents. Assorted sons, daughters, their partners, and kids.

Equal parts joy and mayhem. Our personal relationships, welfare and business, seamlessly managed together. There’s nothing quite the modern family. A smarter, happier future starts here.

Clear advice

Our tax advisors will clearly explain the self assessment process and the requirements for the filing of a tax return. We will prepare your Return, submit it to HMRC, advise you of payment dates and amounts, and deal with any issues raised by HMRC. We keep in regular contact with our clients ensuring that they are aware of what we do at every step of the process.

Why choose Morton Fraser

Our team comprises solicitors and qualified tax advisers.  We have the expertise to deal with the completion and submission of tax returns.  We help you to comply with the self assessment requirements.  When completing your tax returns, we are able to review your tax affairs to ensure any relevant reliefs are claimed, and any tax saving opportunities explored with you.

Our approach to fees

In almost all cases, we will be able to give you a fixed fee quote before we start any work for you.  This is sometimes not possible because we haven't yet established with you what will be involved.  In that situation, we will give you a clear indication of the likely cost, and seek to establish a more defined scope of work as quickly as possible.
