Hot off the press is the Scottish Government's announcement that it intends to abolish Employment Tribunal fees in Scotland. On a related note, we look at the important Court of Appeal decision which was issued late last month on UNISON'S challenge to Employment Tribunal fees in England & Wales. We also discuss an interesting case regarding an employee's choice of companion during disciplinary proceedings as well as covering the Government consultation on their proposed reforms to industrial law. We have also highlighted recent guidance issued by Acas on discrimination and diversity in the workplace.
This eBulletin also includes details of our latest Essential Employment Law seminars which we will be running in October and we hope that you are able to come along.
Finally, the annual employment tribunal award statistics are due out on 10 September and we will include full details in our October eBulletin. If you can't wait until then, we have provided a link in this edition where we will comment on the statistics as soon as they are available.
