Our seminar will provide a general employment law update to ensure that you are up to speed with all of the latest developments including the changes that come into effect from 1 October 2014, the impact of early ACAS conciliation, the very latest employment tribunal compensation statistics and the latest on Employment Tribunal fees. We will also cover what to expect in 2015 on the employment law front including shared parental leave.
The hot topic at the moment, due to recent Tribunal and court decisions, is the calculation of holiday pay where employees receive payments beyond basic pay (such as overtime, commission payments or call out payments) during their employment but only receive basic pay when on holiday.
This is an issue which the unions are very focused on and liabilities for employers could be very significant. Press coverage and advertising campaigns launched by law firms seeking to act for employees are also increasing public awareness. We will provide an update on the latest case law that you need to be aware of and explain the implications.
