The great thing about being an apprentice is getting hands on experience at doing a job while gaining a top qualification. For me it’s a no brainer!
Before I joined the Morton Fraser finance team I worked for a retail company in the construction sector. Working retail full-time really wasn't for me. Getting an apprenticeship was definitely what I wanted to do, seeing as I would get a qualification alongside working full-time in a career instead of just a job. I signed up to a recruitment agency called 'Limelight' where they try to get people into office roles while doing an apprenticeship. Before long, I got an interview to join Morton Fraser which really jumped out at me. I had researched them before the interview and thought they looked a very professional and interesting firm, so instantly I was attracted to the role.
Getting the call from Limelight to tell me I had been offered the job was fantastic and I was excited not only for starting an new job but also for starting the apprenticeship, and now after three months down the line I'm half way through completing the 'SVQ Level 3 Business and Administration' and really enjoying working for Morton Fraser all the while! - Joe Scally, Morton Fraser Apprentice, Finance Team
