Morton Fraser, a growing Scottish independent law firm, has been reappointed to provide legal services to Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council.

The appointment follows a competitive tendering exercise to win a place on the Councils' Framework. Five further Scottish Councils will be able to use the Framework: Highland, Orkney, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar, Shetland and Moray.

During this new two-year contract, Morton Fraser will provide a range of legal advice including commercial, regulatory and dispute resolution services.

The firm continues to invest in its Public Sector team, which is now one of the largest in Scotland, with over 80 specialists. These local authorities join over 100 clients which include the City of Edinburgh Council, Ministry of Defence and Scottish and UK Governments.

Rory Alexander, Planning and Local Government Partner at Morton Fraser and Legal Associate of the RTPI, said: “More so than ever before, local authorities in Scotland are encountering a range of issues which bring both challenges as well as potential opportunities.

“This is a transformational time for public services, and these appointments build on our service delivery in supporting Aberdeen City Council and Aberdeenshire Council over the last four years. We are delighted to be working with these councils and look forward to providing a breadth of expertise over the next two years.”
