Joanne Cruickshank has joined independent, Scottish law firm Morton Fraser as Legal Director in its Residential Property team.

Joanne brings 26 years of experience and strong credentials in property law to the team of nine. She joins Morton Fraser having previously been a Partner at both Aberdein Considine and Raeburn Christie Clarke and Wallace. She will take on leadership responsibility for Morton Fraser’s conveyancing services within its Residential Property team and will work alongside Head of Estate Agency, Denise McKenzie.

The firm’s Residential Property team has seen impressive growth and an increase in market share since Denise took on its leadership in 2016. According to ESPC it delivered almost nine per cent increase in sales last year despite a downturn in the market over that period. During 2017 the team also increased its average selling price by 13 percent, more than twice the average and it achieved a 23 per cent increase in the total value of sales.

Chris Harte, Chief Executive of Morton Fraser said, “Joanne has a great track record and her appointment, in the newly created Legal Director role, was a natural choice. It will allow us to build on the achievements of the Residential Property team which has established itself as one of the best in Scotland. As an independent firm, we pride ourselves on providing clear advice to our clients and employing the very best talent. I welcome Joanne to the team and am confident she will support Denise in driving the success of the team further still.”

Joanne is the first to take on the role of Legal Director at Morton Fraser. The firm is introducing the role to drive commercial success and extend career opportunities for its team.
