Paul Geoghegan has been promoted to the position of partner within leading Scottish law firm Morton Fraser’s Corporate Law team.

Geoghegan’s appointment, effective on the 1^st of May, exemplifies Morton Fraser’s commitment to ‘home grown’ talent as he joined the firm as a trainee in 2006. Morton Fraser holds one of the highest ‘home grown’ talent rates in Scotland with almost 20 percent of its 44 partners joining as trainees.

Geoghegan has built a strong reputation within the corporate law sector in Scotland and his work focuses on a number of areas including mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, Scottish limited partnerships and charity law. He is also a key member of Morton Fraser’s Sports Law team, and a director and trustee of Linlithgow Community Development Trust.

The appointment coincides with the retirement of Morton Fraser’s long-standing partner Joyce White, who is stepping down at the end of April. White has been instrumental in establishing the reputation of Morton Fraser within the Corporate Law market in Glasgow.
