The majority of the changes to the TUPE regulations came into force on 31 January this year and my previous blog outlines the key changes that were made. TUPE is a complicated area of employment law and one which employees consistently find difficult to get to grips with so the new Acas guidance is welcomed. The guidance provides a fairly easy to understand explanation of employers' duties in TUPE transfers.
Along with the guidance Acas have also produced a flowchart which provides a basic outline, from an employment perspective, of the steps, that both an outgoing employer and an incoming employer should take when dealing with TUPE transfers.
For those looking for more detailed guidance, BIS published a revised guide to TUPE in light of the 31 January changes - Employment Rights on the Transfer of an Undertaking.
