This event will help to raise awareness and to raise funds to build a new extension at the Edinburgh Maggie’s Centre, located at the NHS Western Hospital.
This inaugural event, “Property rocks for Maggie’s” is being held at Lulu’s (below Tigerlily on George Street) and is sponsored by Morton Fraser and CuthbertWhite.
All funds raised will be donated to the Maggie’s fundraising campaign to build a new extension at the Edinburgh Maggie’s Centre – widening the welcome to an additional 5,000 visits each year by people affected by cancer.
Dr Ali Afshar, Joint Managing Director of AMA and volunteer Chair of the Maggie’s Edinburgh Board said:
"I am delighted so many of Edinburgh’s key property individuals are supporting this event and I look forward to seeing who bids in the auction and sings with the band!”
“Not everyone appreciates that all Maggie’s Centres are funded and operated entirely through donations which are made by companies and individuals.”
“Edinburgh’s new extension will allow Maggie’s to widen the welcome to an additional 5,000 visits by people in Scotland affected by cancer each year.”
“Events like this help to raise awareness and I am looking forward to a great event.”
Andy Anderson, Centre Head at Maggie’s Edinburgh, said:
“It is wonderful to hear Property Rocks is to be held in aid of Maggie’s Edinburgh. It is particularly apt that the city’s property industry is getting behind the creation of our extension. Every penny raised on the night will be put towards creating a wonderful new space where Maggie’s can welcome many more people affected by cancer.
“I would like to thank everyone involved for their hard work and I know everyone at Maggie’s greatly appreciates their efforts.”
