During that time he has represented a wide variety of individuals, corporations, trusts and foundations in the acquisition, management and disposal of properties of all types but over the last 20 years or more with a particular interest in forestry, rural and agricultural, estate, country house and mixed properties.

A significant number of Alistair's clients reside outwith Scotland and he has a strong link with clients from Scandinavia. His client base is worldwide and he works regularly with land agents to source appropriate properties for clients. One of Alistair's strengths is that he is a team player and relishes the opportunity to work with land and estate advisers, wealth and tax advisers and, particularly the client to make sure that the client's needs are met. It is trite to say that he goes the extra mile - but he does!

Strong connections through London and Jersey have produced significant business for Alistair over the years and he maintains strong links with lawyers, trust companies and family offices in these jurisdictions.

Alistair has a particular interest in access rights in Scotland and is a member of one of the committees of Scotways. He is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and recently obtained their Advanced Certificate in Advising Family Businesses (with merit). This is an area which Alistair is developing and he employs the skills acquired though this qualification when advising families and their businesses.

Transactions have included the acquisition and disposal of several high profile fully let investment properties, shopping centres, logistics depots, portfolio and individual forestry assets, farms, country houses, estates etc. He continues to be involved in advising leisure and tourism clients on their property assets including identifying alternative use strategies and the strategic disposal of assets. A highlight was his involvement in the relocation of T in the Park to Strathallan Estate.
