Carrie is a Consultant in our Employment Law team, based in Edinburgh.
Carrie is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in employment law having specialised in this field since qualifying as a solicitor in 1997.
During this time she has accumulated extensive experience in advising both employers and employees in all aspects of the employment relationship including unfair dismissal, labour relations and trade union matters, family friendly rights and contractual issues. Carrie's advice is pro-active and practical seeking to provide cost effective solutions for clients.
She has a particular interest in discrimination and leads the firm's Equality Unit which provides advice to clients on the effect of discrimination legislation as that relates to the education sector, associations, access to services and exercise of public functions and disposal and management of premises.
She regularly appears in the Employment Tribunal and has appeared throughout Scotland and in the Scottish Employment Appeal Tribunal. She is a highly experienced litigator, recently being described by an employment judge as having "outstanding skills in preparation and advocacy".
Carrie is a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Scottish Discrimination Law Association.
