Elspeth is a partner in the Commercial Real Estate division in Edinburgh. She is also Chair of the firm's risk management team.

Elspeth acts for a broad range of national property investors and developers, from institutional funds to private property companies and a range of high street retailers. 

Elspeth has been referred to as a leading individual in the commercial property sector by Legal 500, and was described as "very much on top of her brief and exceptionally good at organisation". She was also praised by Chambers and Partners as representing an array of investors and developers in high end acquisitions, disposals and property financings, and described by one client as "a very experienced property lawyer. We continue to work with her because she is responsive, has a professional manner and provides excellent advice." She is also described by her clients and peers in earlier editions as being "fabulous", a "very big hitter" and "a very good lawyer."

She is well known for her role acting for Tesco in relation to all their Scottish assets, and for Patrizia AG in relation to a number of their managed funds. In addition, she is experienced in acting for overseas investors and in the student and  in the social care and retirement sectors. She is also a member of Revo, and also an active supporter of Maggie's cancer charity, organising the co-hosted property event 'Property Rocks for Maggie's'.

Elspeth specialises in areas such as property development contracts, commercial leases, land purchase contracts, joint ventures, asset management, amongst other areas. She is known for producing practical, commercial solutions and has built a reputation for being knowledgeable, approachable and straight forward.

Elspeth has worked with key clients such as Tesco Stores Limited, Tesco Personal Finance,  Patrizia Hanover Property Unit Trust and Rockspring UK Value Fund,  as well as developers such as BAM Properties Limited.

Elspeth is qualified in both Scots and English law able to provide clear and thorough advice on cross border issues. She is able to take into account the commercial, political and social factors that arise across the jurisdictions.
