Elspeth is a partner in the firm's Commercial Real Estate division. She is also Chair of the firm's risk management team. 

She acts for a broad range of national property investors and developers, from institutional funds to private property companies as well as a range of high street retailers. 

She is well known for her role acting for Tesco in relation to all their Scottish assets.  

Elspeth is rated as a leading individual in the Commercial Property sector by Legal 500, and in the 2018 edition was described as "very much on top of her brief and exceptionally good at organisation". She was also described  by Chambers and Partners in their 2019 edition as representing an array of investors and developers in high end acquisitions, disposals and property financings, and described by one client as "a very experienced property lawyer. We continue to work with her because she is responsive, has a professional manner and provides excellent advice. " She is also described by her clients and peers in earlier editions as being "fabulous", a "very big hitter" and "a very good lawyer."

She is a member of Revo, and also an active supporter of Maggie's cancer charity, organising the co-hosted property event 'Property Rocks for Maggie's'.

Elspeth is a partner in the Morton Fraser Commercial Real Estate division, based in Edinburgh. She acts for a broad range of national property investors and developers, from institutional funds to private property companies as well as a range of high street retailers.

Elspeth is rated as one of the top six commercial lawyers in Scotland by the 2016 Legal 500. She was also described most recently by Chambers and Partners in their 2016 edition as "fabulous" - and described by her peers in earlier editions as being a "very big hitter" and "a very good lawyer."

She has built a strong reputation in both the development and investment market sectors, with particular focus on retail and leisure.  

Some of the key clients Elspeth represents are Tesco Stores Limited and Tesco Bank,  Rockspring Hanover Property Unit Trust and Rockspring UK Value Fund,  as well as developers such as BAM Properties Limited,  occupiers and retailers.

Elspeth is very highly regarded by her colleagues, clients and by the market.

She is qualified in both Scots and English law and a member of the British Council of Shopping Centres.
