Fiona Byron

Fiona is a senior associate in our Private Client team, based in Edinburgh.

Fiona holds the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners' Charity Trustee Qualification, as well as the Chartered Insurance Institute’s Certificate in Financial Planning. She has previously tutored on the Revenue Law course at Edinburgh University and is also a Notary Public.

Individuals & Families Expertise

Fiona undertakes a wide variety of private client work providing advice to individuals and their families, with a particular focus on asset protection and charity law.

She advises clients on all areas of estate planning. This includes providing practical, tailored advice on the use and creation of tax efficient wills, the administration of complex estates, inheritance tax planning, the creation and management of trusts, powers of attorney and issues arising under the Adults with Incapacity legislation. 

Fiona has a keen interest in charity law and is a member of Morton Fraser’s thriving Third Sector team, with her particular expertise focusing on advising charitable trusts and setting up new charities with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator.
