Ken is a partner in our litigation division which is one of the largest and most experienced litigation teams in Scotland.

Ken is a commercial litigator and heads up the real estate litigation team. He has over 30 years' experience in resolving commercial disputes with a particular focus on planning, commercial property, CPO, procurement and property development related disputes, and professional indemnity claims involving property professionals.

As well as a lawyer, he is a qualified planner and gained Royal Town Planning Institute Membership in 1986. He is regularly rated as a leading individual in the main directories.

Ken has an excellent understanding of all aspects of the property investment and development industry.

Commercial Real Estate expertise

Ken is a highly experienced litigator who has advised a broad cross-section of private and public sector clients (including British Land, Standard Life, Land Securities, Tesco Stores Limited, National Grid, Peel Energy, Miller Developments, NHS, BAM Developments, MOD, the Scottish Government,  and West Lothian, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Stirling Councils).

He appears frequently in public inquiries and litigates regularly in all Scottish courts and tribunals. He has taken four cases to the Supreme Court.

Ken has worked in the public as well as the private sector and understands the importance governance and other operational constraints applying to public sector bodies.  

Individuals and Families expertise

In addition to large institutional investor and developer clients, Ken has also worked for and enjoyed advising a number of individual property owners and small developer companies.
