Linsey is an Accredited Specialist in Agricultural Law and Partner in our Agricultural and Rural team, based in our Edinburgh office.

Business expertise

Linsey has provided advice to other legal firms providing extra support in more complex rural matters ranging from clawback arrangements to advising on agricultural tenancy matters.

As part of the Agriculture team, Linsey, James, Gail and Matthew have years of experience of dealing with the buying and selling of woodlands and forests.

Individuals and Families expertise

Linsey acts for a wide variety of clients, including private individuals and landowners, estate owners, farmers, agribusinesses, charities, Public Sector bodies and lenders. She has considerable experience advising on a broad range of rural property matters specialising in the sale, purchase and letting of rural land and property, including woodlands, farms and estates, large country houses, telecoms and renewable energy projects involving  wind and hydro.

Therefore if you are a prospective buyer, seller or tenant of land, estates or country houses or you have been approached by a renewable energy company that wants to put turbines on your land or if you want to reorganise your farming business to deal with succession planning issues or sell off land for development or if you are a bank lending over land or if you need advice about how to resolve a dispute about the boundaries of your land or access, use and leasing rights, problems with water supply and drainage issues, then Linsey is very well qualified to help you.

Linsey has a track record of getting to the heart of the problem through years of experience and knowing the right questions to ask. She is rigorous and tenacious in support of her clients and works hard to maintain good relations all round so that the deal is done to the satisfaction of all parties.

What our clients and peers say:

Recommended in the authoritative Legal 500 for both 2016 and 2017, Linsey is described as ‘determined and imaginative’ and as a specialist ‘whose practice includes rural property, renewable energy and public sector work, and who is noted for her ability to ‘manage and delegate work to ensure prompt service’.
