Pamela is an accredited specialist employment lawyer in our well regarded Employment Team.
Pamela has extensive experience of advising employers and employees on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues arising throughout the employment relationship. This includes drafting of contracts of employment, service agreements and settlement agreements, advising on redundancy situations and negotiating severance packages. Pamela frequently advises on unfair/constructive dismissal matters and is a member of the Equality Unit which provides advice on all aspects of discrimination law including workplace discrimination.
Pamela appears regularly before Employment Tribunals, from the initial preliminary hearing stage through to full hearings. However, Pamela appreciates the importance of taking a pragmatic approach to handling cases, exploring alternative dispute resolution where appropriate in order to achieve the best solution for her clients.
This includes advising employers on matters such as drafting contracts of employment, service agreements, settlement agreements, TUPE, data protection/FOI, redundancy programmes, unfair/constructive dismissal and discrimination issues.
Public Sector expertise
She has acted for Ministry of Defence, HMRC, Department for Transport, and Police Scotland. Pamela has also acted for local authorities in Employment Tribunal cases.
Pamela also provides advice to a teaching union which provides a great deal of insight into local authorities and the teaching profession.
