Our banking & finance law team is one of the biggest and most experienced among Scottish firms.
We have grown steadily over the last ten years with 17 specialist finance lawyers supported by our corporate, property and insolvency & restructuring teams. We act for all of the UK's clearing banks and many international financial institutions and debt funds, as well as domestic and international borrower and sponsor clients. Increasingly we are instructed by English and international law firms to provide specialist Scottish advice.

We have the experience to allow us to be confident in our advice. Our aim, always, is to help the transaction, not to create problems. We produce documentation in clear English, readily understandable to the lay reader. Our clients comment that we win business for the firm because we explain options clearly and don't hide behind legal niceties and uncertainties. Our aim is always to help provide a business solution and get the deal done.
We're market leaders in asset and invoice finance and highly rated for corporate debt transactions. The breadth of our practice means that we understand lenders' transaction needs and know their processes and policies. This allows us to provide the right advice whether we're acting for lender or borrower. The range of work we do means that we know the likely "sticking points" and can anticipate problems rather than reacting to them.
We give value for money and compete comfortably with City of London firms in quality of work at the costs appropriate to our office locations. When we offer a fixed fee we stand by that fixed fee.
