At Morton Fraser we have highlighted clarity as our guiding principle.
This directs the way we communicate, the way we advise, the way we conduct relationships with our clients and the way we are totally transparent and upfront about our charges. This applies to all our services from the straightforward to the more complex.
Ranked Tier 1 in Legal 500 for planning in 2018/19, our planning and environmental lawyers act for small and large companies as well as local government, the Scottish Government and central government departments.
Regardless of the nature or scale of your proposed development, we can help.
We have wide experience of all aspects of environmental law from pollution control to regeneration of contaminated land. We have been successfully involved in some of the most complex and contentious environmental legal cases in the country.
Our lawyers are plain speaking and pragmatic with advice being delivered in clear and practical terms. Our starting point is always to identify what you are looking to achieve and our advice is focussed on achieving that aim.
Benefits we bring
We deal with all aspects of the planning process. We advise on development plan representations. We assist with pre-application enquiries. We manage planning applications with you in a way that reduces the scope for legal challenge. We draft any legal agreements which are required before planning permission is granted. We also advise on challenges raised in the Court of Session against planning decisions.
Our approach to fees
We understand the importance for you of knowing the cost of legal advice at the outset of a piece of work. To provide value for money, we seek to agree fixed fees for the work that we will undertake. If it is not possible to provide a fixed fee for a particular piece of work, we will provide a clear indication of the likely fee to be charged based upon an agreed scope of work.
