Emma Wood

Emma is a Partner in our highly-rated Succession and Tax team, dealing with a wide variety of Private Client work.

Emma specialises in estate planning and provides advice on Wills and Powers of Attorney, inheritance tax planning and establishing and administering trusts.  She will take the time to get to know you and your family circumstances in order to advise on what best suits your family's needs. 

She is also experienced in advising executors and beneficiaries in the administration of estates.  Emma recognises the impact that significant life events can have and takes pride in assisting clients with practical advice in a compassionate way. 

Emma is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners), having gained the Diploma in Trusts and Estates with Distinction and was awarded the Worldwide Excellence Award for being the highest scoring graduate of STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Scotland) between January and July 2018.

She is involved in drafting Wills and Powers of Attorney, estate and succession planning, trust work and the administration of executries. Emma is also involved in charity law and the administration of charitable trusts.

Emma joined Morton Fraser’s Private Client team in August 2013, having trained with the firm since 2011, she also gained experience undertaking an in-house role for a charity for a year before rejoining Morton Fraser in April 2019. Emma is a full member of STEP (The Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners), having gained the Diploma in Trusts and Estates with Distinction and was awarded the Worldwide Excellence Award for being the highest scoring graduate of STEP Diploma in Trusts and Estates (Scotland) between January and July 2018.
