A partner in our litigation division, Jenny specialises in personal injury and professional negligence.

She has been defending employers’ liability, public liability and motor claims on behalf of a wide range of clients since 2000. During this time, she has acted for insurers, various self-insured companies, and local and central government bodies.  Jenny’s diverse case work ranges from high value occupational disease cases to professional negligence actions.

Jenny also has an interest in reputation protection, and is known for her handling of defamation cases and managing disputes relating to online reputational challenges for clients.

As a solicitor advocate, Jenny regularly represents clients in the Court of Session. Her involvement in cases as a solicitor advocate enables us to provide clients with a consistent approach to advice and representation in court and gain the benefits of an accessible, streamlined service.

Jenny is considered as a Leading Individual Lawyer by Legal 500 in personal injury.

Business expertise

Jenny handles a large variety of reparation cases, including employers' liability and  road traffic accident claims.

With over 15 years' experience of advising on personal injury cases, Jenny has developed specialist knowledge of various medical conditions, such as asbestos related diseases, back injuries and psychiatric illness.

Jenny has a particular interest in process driven work, streamlining our systems to deliver best value for our clients.   She has developed systems of management information reporting for our clients, to ensure we can tailor reports to each individual client's needs.

Public Sector expertise

Jenny ensures smooth delivery of personal injury services to our public sector clients, from case handling and reporting, to identification of our client's training needs.

Jenny handles a large variety of reparation cases, including employers' liability and RTA cases, as well as health and safety advice.

In her management of client projects, Jenny has a particular focus on improving efficiencies for both ourselves and our clients by reviewing how we work together with them.   For example, for the MoD, Jenny has consulted with their claims handlers, Gallagher Bassett, to revise the format and delivery of our whole service to them to suit their needs.

Individuals and Families expertise

Jenny represents clients in accident, disease and medical negligence cases. She works hard to ensure that her clients get the maximum compensation they deserve.

Examples of here recent cases include successfully achieving a high settlement for the family of a road traffic accident victim, and winning a court action which we raised on behalf of a lady who had been rendered unable to work as a result of the negligence of the medical practitioner who had treated her.

Jenny has the necessary knowledge and experience to guide her clients smoothly through all steps of the claims process.

What our clients and peers say:

The Defender reparation practice is led by the ‘particularly good’ solicitor advocate, Jenny Dickson, who is ‘highly experienced and extremely professional, organised and hard-working’.
